    7. #SCWS2012…my thoughts on how small became big news

Small cells are not small fry: that’s my takeaway from Small Cells World Summit 2012 in London. Femtocells have proven to be a very effective weapon for operators to fight  the twin scourges of poor coverage and insufficient capacity.  There a number of case studies presented SCWS that demonstrate this. Vodafone appears to be keen to ramp up the volume …

    9. Even a few small cells can boost capacity

Carriers can start to alleviate their mobile broadband pressures by offloading to a "moderate deployment" of small base stations All the US carriers were using their spots on stage at this week's CTIA Wireless event to plead their need for more spectrum to deliver mobile broadband promises, but they know they will have to make use of many other techniques besides, to boost capacity.
